Kris And Luhan's Contract Lawsuit Against SM Entertainment Ends

The two-year-long legal battle between SM Entertainment and Kris and Luhan has finally been concluded. According to SM Entertainment, the lawsuit is now over , and although the details have not been released, Kris and Luhan will both remain contracted with SM Entertainment until the year 2022.  On July 21, SM’s legal team declared that the case ended after the two sides reached a compromise. “The exact details of the case cannot be revealed, but after negotiating with the other side, both Kris and Luhan will stay under exclusive contracts with SM until 2022, the date in their original contracts.” 

“Except for in Korea and Japan, all activities by Kris and Luhan will be entrusted to SM Entertainment,” they added. “In addition, Kris and Luhan’s income will be shared with SM Entertainment.” The details of the revenue share have not been officially revealed yet, so it is difficult to determine which side got the upper hand in the lawsuit arbitration. However, Korean media outlet TV Report has reported that SM Entertainment will receive 30 percent of Kris and Luhan’s revenue in areas outside of Korea and China. Kris and Luhan filed lawsuits to nullify their contracts with SM Entertainment in May 2014 and Oct. 2014, respectively.
