On April 24, CJ E&M confirmed the date and location for the first KCON 2015 NY.
For the first time ever, KCON will be held in the New York City area, at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.
The Prudential Center has hosted key K-pop concerts including Big Bang’s 2012 Alive Tour, as well as, 2PM and g.o.d.
KCON 2015 New York will be held on August 8, the weekend immediately following KCON 2015 LA.
The expansion to the New York City area, follows the announcement on April 17 that KCON LA would be extended from a two-day event in 2014 to a spectacular 3-day event in 2015.
In addition to the extension of programming, KCON LA has moved from the Los Angeles Sports Area to the Staples Center, in the heart of Downtown LA.
KCON 2015 USA follows KCON Japan which was held at the Saitama Super Arena on April 22, 2015.
The event delivered performances from top Korean pop acts including GOT7, INFINITE, SISTAR and 2PM’s Jun.K.
KCON has become the preeminent event for Hallyu fans, with Los Angeles serving as the center location for the convention.
The event was launched in 2012 and was attended by 10,000 fans.
In 2013, more than 20,000 attendees showed their love for artists which included Big Bang’s G-Dragon, EXO, Crayon Pop, Dynamic Duo, f(x), Teen Top and 2AM.
KCON 2014 was even bigger, with more than 40,000 fans in attendance for Korean workshops, panels, and live performances delivered by Girls’ Generation, CNBLUE, G-Dragon, B1A4, Teen Top, VIXX and more.
