Kate Upton was angry at controversial photographer Terry Richardson for releasing the “Cat Daddy” video without the expressed permission of People’s Sexiest Woman Alive.
But it didn’t last long, apparently.
In an interview with Alexa Chung for Vogue magazine , Kate Upton said that Terry Richardson released the video of her dancing to the tune of “Cat Daddy” while wearing a very tiny bikini, without even asking if she’s alright with it.
Alexa Chung asked Justin Verlander’s girlfriend if she confronted Terry Richardson after the “Cat Daddy” video quickly went viral, she said, “Yes, I did.
I was like, ‘That was disrespectful, you could have told me!'” “The video received millions of hits on Youtube – not to mention a number of slow-motion versions for the more discerning customer – but, at the time, Upton was horrified because the behind-the-scenes video had been filmed for fun, not something she expected would make the final cut,” Alexa Chung wrote.
However, the model couldn’t stay angry for long because the “Cat Daddy” video helped propel Kate Upton to fame.
“Now, obviously, it’s fine,” Justin Verlander’s girlfriend said.
NY Daily News reported that Kate Upton’s “Cat Daddy” video was briefly taken down by You Tube for being too racy.
“It was also Upton’s second shot at viral fame; about a year earlier, she was introduced to the drooling masses in a video that showed her doing ‘The Dougie,’ another brief dance craze, in the stands at a Los Angeles Clippers game,” the report said.
Meanwhile, E! News said that Kate Upton’s comments about being angry with Terry Richardson didn’t coincide with her actions at that time.
She was 19 years old when the video was released.
The website said, “Although Upton says she was pissed over its leak to the world, she definitely didn’t seem to mind at the time, because she tweeted about the video, ‘MY’Cat Daddy’!!!’ directed by Terry Richardson @terry_world http://tmblr.co/ZEobVyKgwtdS haha.'”
