Carole Middleton has moved in to Anmer Hall to help out Kate Middleton and Prince William after Princess Charlotte was born.
According to The Daily Mail , Kate’s mother will be there to take charge of the running of the household, overseeing the household staff which include a night nurse, a nanny, a housekeeper, a chef, and several protection officers.
The Daily Mail also reports that the household staff have become “resentful” of Carole’s presence, and have taken to calling her “Carole The Gatekeeper” behind her back.
“She runs the home, chooses the food – not too fattening, as Kate wants to regain her figure as quickly as possible – and the seasonal floral displays,” the Daily Mail’s source said.
“She instructs nannies and maternity nurses.” “Basically, she ensures that the family never have to see or deal with anything unpleasant,” the source continued.
Reportedly, Carole’s goal is to make sure that her daughter is well taken cared of, and William is relaxed too, especially with Princess Charlotte’s addition to the family.
She reportedly wants to ensure that the royal family has a “summer of fun, frolics and visitors, trips to children’s farms, parks and playdates out of the goldfish bowl of Kensington Palace,” according to The Daily Mail’s insider.
Carole reportedly wants to be as close as possible to the royal family, even contacting a real estate agent to find her a home that is near Anmer Hall.
The Daily Mail said that this has caused some friction between Carole and her husband Michael, because the latter “has absolutely no desire to live in Norfolk, even part-time and adores life in Bucklebury,” which is in Berkshire village, where the Middletons reside.
Prince William’s mother-in-law and her involvement in the household affairs of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, has caused his friends to start talking as well, “It’s a class issue,” the Daily Mail quoted one source.
“It seems very peculiar to [Prince William’s] friends because, generally, upper class mothers are much less involved.” “That’s why they have nannies and maternity nurses,” the source added.
