Jumanji Remake 2014 is a go? Columbia Pictures has announced that they are developing a new film adaptation to the award-winning children’s game board book in 1981.
Douglas Belgrad, one of the bosses from Columbia made the announcement during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter , saying that the idea is to “try and reimagine ‘Jumanji’ and update it for the present.”
Zack Helm has been reported to pen the remake while Matt Tolmach and Bill Teitler are tapped to produce the planned project.
Chris Van Allsburg’s illustrated book, following the story of an adult who was trapped in the world of the mysterious board game was previously adapted as a movie on 1995, where it starred the late Robin Williams together with the then young Kirsten Dunst, directed by Joe Johnston (Jurassic Park III and Captain America).
