Legendary musician Joni Mitchell has been previously reported to be in a coma.
As numerous sites reported, including TMZ , Mitchell was allegedly rushed to the hospital after she was found lying unconscious in her Los Angeles home.
Positive news about her recovery was allegedly not expected and her condition was then perceived to be that of a lost cause.
However, her family still had high hopes.
It was also reported that Joni’s friend, Leslie Morris, was the one who filed the documents that initially confirmed Joni’s state.
The document was allegedly filed by Leslie so she can assume the responsibility of taking care of her friend, as she has allegedly no other close relatives that could assume the responsibility.
Morris has been Mitchell’s friend for 44 years and fans are convinced that she means well when she filed those documents.
Regardless, there are still rumors floating that claim Morris is only after the conservatorship for her best friend’s money.
In relation to the documents allegedly filed, the source cited above reported that it stated Joni to be in a coma.
the 71-year-old is allegedly “unconscious and unable to make any responses, and is therefore unable to provide for any of her personal needs,” the photo, which TMZ published, read.
While it seems true, Joni’s official site has disproved all reports claiming she is in a coma.
The site released a statement that says Mitchell is “alert and has her full senses.” “Contrary to rumours circulating on the Internet today, Joni is not in a coma,” the statement read.
“Joni is still in the hospital – but she comprehends, she’s alert, and she has her full senses.” “The document obtained by a certain media outlet simply gives her long-time friend Leslie Morris the authority – in the absence of 24-hour doctor care – to make care decisions for Joni once she leaves the hospital,” it continued.
“As we all know, Joni is a strong-willed woman and is nowhere near giving up the fight.”
