It seems that K-Pop has converted yet again another celebrity fan and this time, it is in young Jaden Smith. If you don’t know who Jaden Smith is, he is just the son of one of the biggest American stars on earth, Will Smith. And if you think that’s impressive, Jaden himself had already starred in a number of Hollywood films. Only 18 years old, Jaden Smith starred in hit films like “The Karate Kid” alongside Asian superstar Jackie Chan, “The Pursuit of Happyness” and the recent “After Earth” both with his father.

Not only that, Jaden is also a rapper who had released his first EP last year and has also released a number of mix tapes as well as being featured on Justin Bieber’s track “Never Say Never.” On December 21 st , Jaden Smith surprised many fans when he all of a sudden tweeted “I Just Wanna Be A K Pop Star.” Seemingly wanting to be taken seriously, he then made a follow up tweet to his status saying “I’m Serious I Actually Wanna Be A K Pop Star,” Koreaboo reports. It should be noted that two weeks before he tweeted his desire of becoming a k-pop star, Soompi reported that Smith had also tweeted his admiration for the leader of one of k-pop’s biggest groups, G-Dragon, citing him as his ‘inspiration.’   As a thankful gesture, G-Dragon quickly tweeted a response saying “Good seeing you, always a pleasure. Let’s do something.” Their social media interaction triggered a whole lot of speculation that the two are planning on a collaborative project together and since the Smiths already have had ties with YG Entertainment in the past, this may not be far from reality. It’s amazing to know how much k-pop has grown that even a famous Hollywood celebrity like Jaden Smith would want to become a part of it. Truthfully though, with k-pop’s highly impressive music videos, catchy tunes and talented artists, it’s not really that surprising.
