For more than a year already we have been talking about some iPad Pro rumors which would bring the world’s most beloved tablet to a new and bigger level. This year is coming to a close and yet we didn’t see any new Apple slates aside from the usual iPad Air 2 and the iPad mini 3.
Still, we won’t lose hope that the release date for the device is just around the corner.
In a new report, it seems that the Cupertino manufacturer is indeed working on a bigger iPad. According to a report by Phone Arena , website Macotara published an alleged blueprint of the new bigger iPad, which is dubbed as the iPad Air Plus. While the rumored branding for over a year has been iPad Pro, we can definitely see why Apple would use Air Plus, considering that both the iPad Air and the iPhone 6 Plus are doing very well in the market. In the report, the new device will measure 305.31 x 220.8 x 7 mm (12 x 8.7 x .28 inches), which should allow the device to house a 12.2-inch display (probably Retina).
In addition, the company’s famous Touch ID fingerprint sensor home button should also arrive and function for the huge Apple slate.
A new A9 processor is also tipped to run under the hood of the iPad Air Plus considering how big it would be compared to current generation iPads. That could also mean the device would need more processing and battery power in order to run smoothly. While all of these details are mere rumors, we are certainly hoping that our wait for Apple’s big tablet will finally be over.
