Joining Colin Firth, Jude Law, Nicole Kidman and Laura Linney in Michael Grandage’s “Genius” are English actor Dominic West and Guy Pearce.
Pearce will portray the role of F.
Scott Fitzgerald while Dominic West will play role of Ernest Hemmingway in Michael Grandage’s debut feature film.
“Genius” is scheduled to start filming in October 2014 at Shepperton Studios and on location in the U.K.
“Genius” revolves around the relationship between American novelist Thomas Wolfe and his editor Max Perkins.
Laws plays the role of Wolfe starring opposite Firth who plays the role of Perkins, Kidman portrays the role of Aline Bernstein while Linney stars as Louise Perkins.
“Genius” marks the third collaboration between Grandage and his producing partner Logan and James Bierman following the outstanding stage production of “Red” which earned him six TonyAwards including best director.
Amond their most recent work is “Peter and Alice” which starred Ben Wishaw and Judi Dench.
Grandage said, “John Logan is one of the greatest story-tellers of our time both on stage and screen, and I’m loving working with him again on ‘Genius.” Ben Davis is director of photography; Tim Bevan is executive producer along with producers Grandage, Bierman and Logan.
Jane Petrie is costume designer, Mark Digby is production designer and Chris Dickens is editor.
It is produced by Michael Grandage Company and Desert Wolf Productions.
Domestic sale is handled by CAA while FilmNation is handling international sales.
