With just one more episode left of “Grey’s Anatomy” season 11, spoilers have surfaced regarding the recently renewed season 12.

On Friday, ABC confirmed that “Grey’s Anatomy” would return for season 12 despite the recent controversies surrounding the departure of Derek Shepherd.

“Before we can speculate too much about next season, we have to watch Thursday’s must-see season finale,” said a press release by ABC.

“As the docs at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital continue to tackle an unfathomable crisis, they are reminded of what is important and brought closer together.” But what will “Grey’s Anatomy” season 12 bring? According to spoilers by TVLine , it is unlikely that a lawsuit on behalf of Derek Shepherd will occur.

“I can’t see ‘Grey’s’ doing another protracted lawsuit storyline so soon after the season 9 legal quagmire that followed the deadly plane crash that claimed the lives of Lexie and Mark,” said TVLine’s Michael Ausiello.

“But I could be wrong.” And if you’re not a fan of Owen and Amelia as a couple, or as some have coined, Owella, spoilers confirm their storyline will likely continue in “Grey’s Anatomy” season 12.

“Those two are apparently in it for the long-ish haul,” wrote Ausiello.

In addition, EW reported that actress Debbie Allen will serve as executive producer for “Grey’s Anatomy” season 12 and direct multiple episodes.

Of course, Allen will also continue to portray Jackson Avery’s mother, Catherine.
