After it was reported that Gorillaz would release a new album next year, Jamie Hewlett revealed that he is now working on a follow up to their 2010 release “The Fall.”
In a report by DIY Mag , Hewlett, who brings the animated band to life, said in an interview that he is shutting himself away and revealed that they are already working on the release for next year.
“That’s next year,” he said. “I’m working on it at the moment, and it’s going very well. I’m very excited. I don’t want to say too much about it, but I’m at that phase of experimentation. What I try not to do when I’m working in this creative period, the cooking of the mess, is go to other peoples’ exhibitions and look at other peoples’ work. I close my eyes, and don’t want to know what anyone else is doing. Doing that has kind of ruined the creative process for me in the past, and I don’t want to let that happen again.”
Meanwhile, in a previous report by NME , the man behind the music Damon Albarn, expressed his excitement to work on the new album from Gorillaz, stating how he is looking forward for the routine of locking himself in the studio while he works on the new album.
“I’d love to just get back in to that routine of being at home and coming to the studio five days a week,” he explained, as he prepares for the new Gorillaz album.
In other news, Hewlett revealed in his Instagram posts the new look of Noodle, 2D, Murdoc and Russell for their upcoming release.
