There is no denying that Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has become a breakout star this year.
His stats from his second year to this season has shot up which is why many teams have already expressed their interest in him.
Meanwhile, it seems the forward is igniting a heated rivalry with the Clippers.
Draymond Green had some interesting remarks for the Los Angeles Clippers.
Via Jonathan Abrams of Grantland.com .
“They have a cocky arrogance, like they’ve won something, and they haven’t done nothing.
They pretty much been to the same spot in the playoffs we’ve been to.
But they have this cockiness like you’re supposed to bow down to them.
They ain’t proved nothing.
They ain’t earned nothing.
What respect have you earned?” Green said.
Being drafted in the second round, Green has exceeded the expectations considering the order he was drafted (35 th overall).
He proved that he can guard multiple positions and is versatile enough to average 11.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.6 steals, 1.3 blocks in 31.6 minutes. ESPN’s Amin Elhassan believes the forward is worth $16.3 million per year and here’s why.
“One of the most versatile defensive players in the game today, Green has elevated himself into more than just a glue guy; he’s an excellent passer, a good rebounder, a developing 3-point threat and a fiery competitor.
You can’t build a team around him, but he makes a good team great with his versatility. ” However, according to Bleacher Report’s Howard Beck .
“Green is a complementary player, which means he is a product of the system in Golden State.
He might not be worth around $15 Million and that his game only fits well with GS.
Meanwhile, Middleton is a more predictable commodity: a long, athletic wing who can shoot and defend.
Teams should not hesitate sending him an offer sheet.” With that said, Green will have the chance to prove his claims once his team gets past the eight seed (Oklahoma City Thunder or New Orleans Pelicans).
While the Los Angeles Clippers, needs to get past the Portland Trail Blazers to set up a possible semi-finals match-up between the two teams come playoff time.
