Two popular singers signed to Korean entertainment powerhouse SM Entertainment will appear in one of Korea’s most popular competition shows.
Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany and EXO’s Chanyeol will appear during the final round of Mnet’s “Unpretty Rapstar 2,” joining the cast of the show during the final episodes of the season.
A rep from “Unpretty Rapstar 2” refused to reveal further information about the pair’s roles of the final rap battle, reports the K-Pop Herald.
The rap competition show pits female rappers against one another and has raised awareness in South Korea of Korean hip-hop artists.
During the first season of the show, singers joined the contestants on collaborative tracks as featured vocalists. The first season’s winner was Cheetah whose final song, “Like Nobody Knows,” featured soloist Ailee.
It is likely that Tiffany, one of Girls’ Generation’s main vocalists, and Chanyeol, one of EXO’s rappers, will be featured on this season’s final songs. No information has been confirmed at this time by either SM Entertainment or Mnet regarding their roles during the final episodes of the rap competition show.
As of Oct. 27, 10 contestants still remain on “Unpretty Rapstar 2.”
The program airs every Friday at 11PM on Mnet.
The final episode of “Unpretty Rapstar 2” will air on Nov. 13, while contestants will appear at the “Unpretty Rapstar 2 Concert” on Nov. 28, held in Seoul’s Olympic Hall at Olympic Park.
