It has been reported that the upcoming “Ghostbusters” 3 movie will have an all-new female cast and who’s better to give out casting suggestions? Well none other than the original member himself Bill Murray .
While no confirmation as to who will be included in the new team or if the sequel/reboot will ever make it to the big screen, Murray is reportedly enthusiastic about it but he made it clear that he’s not interested in returning for it telling The Star : “I’m fine with it.
I would go to that movie, and they’d probably have better outfits, too.” He even made his own line up suggesting who he thinks would be perfect for an all-new female team.
Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Emma Stone and Linda Cardellini are on his top list.
In her interview with Yahoo News to promote her new film “The Skeleton Twins,” Kristen Wiig who’s with co-star Bill Hader answered Murray’s endorsement saying: “That’s very flattering,” Wiig said shyly.
“I guess they’re making one from what I hear, which is pretty great.” Hader then urged her saying: “I don’t want to pressure you.” “But you should do it…
And you should have a friend, who’s like a guy, who has to carry around your proton pack.” Hey, if all the Ghostbusters are women, there should be a couple guys in supporting roles, right? We suggested he could take the Annie Potts role.
“Andy Potts!” Wiig intervened.
“I will do whatever Bill Murray tells me to,” Wiig added upon being reminded that her co- Saturday Night Live star endorsing her for a role in “Ghostbusters 3” movie is definitely a big deal.
Sony is reportedly in talks with “Bridesmaids” director Paul Feig to helm the upcoming project, should the deal push through it can be expected that the sequel that took more than 20 years in the making would make in the big screen.
