“Game of Thrones” has catapulted Emilia Clarke’s success in Hollywood.
Despite this, the Daenerys Targaryen actress said she worked hard not to let fame rule her world.
During an interview with Esquire , the Daenerys Targaryen actress apparently went incognito as she and the interviewer went out in London to participate in the treasure hunt of sorts called “Game of Phones.”
Although “GOT” actors became the topic of some conversation during the game, the actress stuck with her disguise and ignored the talk.
Later on, she admitted to the interviewer that it has been her goal not to be “freaky” or, in other words, not let fame get into her mind.
“I’m trying everything I can not to be freaky,” she revealed.
Last July, Clarke also admitted to Metro US that she prefers to be unknown despite choosing to venture into acting.
“I’ll confess that I don’t like what fame brings; sometimes I just want to be invisible, so I can walk down a street and enjoy a good time,” she said.
“Flattery makes me very sad, especially when you are notified that you were chosen as the most desirable woman in a magazine — that sort of thing,” she added.
Aside from the “Sexiest Woman Alive” title from Esquire, she was also named GQ’s “Woman of the Year,” according to Fox News . Although “Game of Throne’s” Emilia Clarke has been recognized quite a lot for her role on TV and the big screen, she’s still able to get away with being anonymous sometimes.
As reported by Mirror last month, compared with her other co-stars on the HBO series like Kit Harington, she doesn’t get recognized as much.
“It’s always been funny going out with Kit, because he’s so recognizable,” “Game of Throne’s” Emilia Clarke explained to GQ as quoted by the source above. “We went to a FKA twigs gig and it was mental. I went to the loo and in the cubicle on either side the girls were like, ‘That’s Jon Snow out there! Don’t know who that random girl is.'”
