“Game of Thrones” actress Natalie Dormer revealed in a new interview which season 5 scenes may make her uncomfortable.
Spoilers reveal that they are the scenes between her character Margaery Tyrell and King Tommen Baratheon, who she is set to marry.
The problem? He’s 12.
In “Game of Thrones” season 4, Natalie Dormer’s character Margaery Tyrell sneaks into the bedroom of her betrothed, 12-year-old King Tommen Baratheon, played by Dean-Charles Chapman (who is now 17).
She sits on his bed, flirts with him, and has a little chat.
While nothing physical happens, the scene is very suggestive as Margaery tries to woo her future husband.
Natalie Dormer, who is 32, told The Daily Beast the scene was “altered” after she told the executive producers that she was “not comfortable doing this,” E! News reports .
Unfortunately for Dormer, this may not be the last time she has to film an uncomfortable scene.
Spoiler alert: the actress hinted that “Game of Thrones” season 5 will further develop Margaery’s relationship with Tommen.
“It’s the nature of the beast that I’m four years into playing Margaery Tyrell and the big plot points of the book are in stone,” she said.
“You can’t change them.
Martin wrote a particular plot line, so on the specifics of Margaery and Tommen getting married, there’s nothing I can do.
On the show, we had to find a way to navigate that in a sensitive way.
There’s more of it next season too, and we’re trying to handle it with intelligence, and integrity.” Dormer also advocated for more male nudity in “Game of Thrones” season 5 – but from the older actors.
“Well, during the first season Alfie [Allen], Richard [Madden], and several of the men got naked-although not all the way,” Dormer told The Daily Beast in an interview posted on Friday, adding, “I think ‘Thrones’ has been better than your average show with the equality, but they could definitely ramp it up! Absolutely.” As we previously reported, Natalie Dormer told the New York Post what she thinks of Margaery: “Margaery Tyrell is a Kate Middleton/Michelle Obama hybrid, a first lady/princess, trying to win over hearts and minds.
The Princess Di effect, you may call it,” the “Game of Thrones” actress said.
“I think she’d make a brilliant psychotherapist,” she added .
“I have this theory that she’d be the best therapist ever.” “Game of Thrones” season 5 is expected to premiere in the spring of 2015.
Dormer also is starring in “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1” as Cressida.
The movie is currently in theaters.
