“Game of Thrones” actress Emilia Clarke is being eyed to topbill the Hollywood adaptation of South Korean hit movie “The Beauty Inside.” The film rights were recently acquired by Fox 2000 despite the strong competition from studios like Universal, Sony, STX, Lionsgate and New Line. According to a report by Deadline , the film rights was acquired by Fox 2000 for $2 million which is considered a pretty steep price to get rights to develop the film. Fox 2000 has already formed a solid team to adapt the South Korean film for Tinseltown.
“The Fault in Our Stars” writers Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber have become involved in the project. The studio will also partner with Temple Hill and Rumble Entertainment to develop the film. Emilia Clarke seems to be a good choice for the lead to play the role of E-Soo, played in the Korean version by “Dong Yi” and “W:Two Worlds” star Han Hyo Joo. Clarke’s performance in the big screen adaptation of Jojo Moyes’ “Me Before You” opposite Sam Claflin recorded $207, 945,075 worldwide on a $20 million budget, proving her draw in the box office, reported Box Office Mojo . “The Beauty Inside”, which opened to theaters in nine countries worldwide, is a film that revolved around a furniture maker named Woo Jin (Kim Dae Myung) who mysteriously woke up every morning with a different face. Despite the change in his appearance, gender or age, however, his heart remained faithful to a woman named E-Soo, who knows his secret and returns his love. “The Beauty Inside” also featured Asian superstars like, Do Ji Han, Bae Sung Woo, Park Shin Hye, Lee Bum Soo, Park Seo Joon, Kim Sang Ho, Chun Woo Hee, Juri Ueno, Lee Jae Joon, Kim Min Jae, Lee Hyun Woo, Jo Dal Hwan, Lee Jin Wook, Hong Da Mi, Seo Kang Joon, Kim Hee Won, Lee Dong Wook, Go Ah Sung, Kim Joo Jyuk and Yoo Yeon Suk to share the role of Woo Jin. American critics received “The Beauty Inside” kindly when it premiered in the US and it received a 70 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Viewers also loved the film as they gave film an 85 percent passing mark.
