Former member of the K-Pop girl group KARA, Nicole Jung will release her first solo single in Japan next month.
“Nicole will be releasing her title song, ‘Something Special’ on June 24 and release her first Japanese album, after a year-and-six-months hiatus,” read a statement from B2M Entertainment on OSEN’s website on Friday.
The former KARA vocalist will also hold a fan event on May 30 at Tokyo’s Toyosu Pit, where she will perform “Something Special” for the first time.
Fans showed excitement for Nicole’s debut in Japan, but also hoped that she would soon return to the stage in her homeland.
“I just hope her Korean comeback isn’t too far away,” Butteru wrote on April 22 in a comment posted to the Korean entertainment website allkpop .
Allkpop reader Cococcchannel was surprised Nicole was kicking off her solo career in Japan.
“Already a Japanese solo debut?” she asked in a comment posted on April 23.
On April 22, Nicole made her onstage debut as a solo artist at Japan’s KCON 2015 JapanxM Countdown concert at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
