While the band is still on tour to promote “Sonic Highways,” rumors and reports of a season 2 of the hit Foo Fighters documentary would happen after the band is done with their shows.
Earlier this year in a Consequence Of Sound report, Dave Grohl revealed that a second season of their HBO series would definitely happen even though they haven’t talked about where the next destination would be.
“It might or might not be international,” the Foo Fighters singer talked about the possibilities for “Sonic Highways” season 2. “It might someday be international. It might only be England, or be England and other places, or maybe it’s places in America and people from other countries that are inspired by these places in America.”
“I mean of all places in the world, England and the UK just seems like it would be like shooting fish in a barrel, ya know? There’s just so f-cking much here.”
In addition to news regarding “Sonic Highways” season 2, WAAF reported that the Foo Fighters recently recorded five new songs, while the band was on tour recently in Texas.
“You know what I did last night?” Grohl said to the audience during the Austin City Limits Festival show. “We recording five f**king new songs in your beautiful city.”
Furthermore, Ben Kweller, who is a resident of the city, reportedly went on to see the Foo Fighters while on tour and recorded a song with the band while they were there.
“Just by chance, I bumped into an old friend that I hadn’t seen in about 16 years, right as I was recording a vocal,” Grohl said. “This motherf**ker walks in – I’m like, ‘Hey, man!’ – and he starts singing the most beautiful f**king harmony to the thing I was singing. I was like, ‘Get your ass in the vocal booth right now.’ And then he said, ‘Hey, if you want, I’ll come up and sing a song with you tonight.'”
