Rockin’ 1000 got an early Christmas present on Thursday as the Foo Fighters surprised them with a Cesena concert date happening in just two weeks after their epic “Learn To Fly” cover last July.
According to Dave Grohl’s post on the band’s official website, tickets for the much-anticipated event in Italy will already be available on Friday.
“Ever since that day we have been looking forward to this incredible experience,” he wrote. “We’re happy to finally announce that it will happen on 3 November at Carisport.”
“We are beyond excited an honored to come play for Cesena,” he added. “An experience like this comes once in a lifetime, so I’m looking forward to a once in a lifetime show.”
There were no other details yet on what would be happening during Foo Fighter’s Cesena concert but many have expressed hope when the video first came out three months ago that the band and Rockin’ 1000 will perform the epic “Learn To Fly” track together.
In a several posts on the Rockin’ 1000 Facebook page, donors were advised to already be on the lookout for instructions . But it was not clear what it meant.
In a video message, meanwhile, head organizer Fabio Zafagnini also called on to the donors, the 1,000 rockers and the fans as he announced the concert date in Italy.
“Prepare your luggage, get ready to take a few days off and spend some time in Cesena because the day is so close,” he said.
It was only last July when the group of rockers and organizers turned into reality their dream of one epic invitation to get the Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett and Nate Mendel back to the Italian town. They covered “Learn To Fly” and got the attention not only of the band but the whole world. The band last visited the town in 1997 as revealed by Rockin’ 1000 when they initially said earlier this month that there was already a concert date .
