Fans who are eagerly awaiting the release date of “Mr. Robot ” season 2 will have to content themselves with watching the series’ first season online.
For viewers in the UK, season 1 of the hit TV cyber espionage series has been available on Amazon Prime since Oct. 16, reported the iDigitalTimes .
On the other hand, Prime Video subscribers in Japan, Germany and Australia will be able to view the first season on Nov. 20.
For their part, American viewers can still catch season 1 of “”Mr. Robot” season 1 on Hulu if they have a cable subscription with USA Network and access to its official website.
The first season of the critically-acclaimed series will also be made available on DVD and Blue Ray format on Jan. 26, 2016, a perfect treat for couch potato fans who can’t seem to wait for the premier “Mr. Robot” season 2.
“Rami Malek delivers a mesmerizing performance and leads a great cast with an intriguing story full of dark twists,” said Brad Beale, Amazon Vice President of Digital Video Content Acquisition.
“Prime members are going to love binging on this awesome show,” Beale added.
“Mr. Robot” follows exploits of Elliot (Rami Malek) who works as a security engineer by day and a cybercrime vigilante by night.
“Mr. Robot” season 2 will have 10 episodes and is anticipated to be released in the spring of 2016.
In the meantime, “Mr. Robot” has qualified for this year’s Gotham Awards, reported Variety .
The Gotham Awards “is an annual indie trophy-fest” which is presented annually by the New York-based nonprofit Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP).
For this year, the award-giving body decided to open up the honors to filmmakers working in serialized content across all platforms.
Two new categories have been added to this year’s round of awards, which include one for long form series (with episodes of more than 30 minutes each) and one for short form (with segments of less than 30 minutes apiece.
This is another positive development for highly-praised “Mr. Robot” as its cast and crew gear up for season 2.
