Nintendo has announced a new Fire Emblem: If bundle for the 3DS console, which includes faceplates of characters in the Nohr and Hoshido nations.
Splatoon, an original franchise for Nintendo, will be released for the Wii U later this year.
The bundle version of the game will have a May 29 release date.
Nintendo developers have announced that classic Sega games will now be available for the 3DS via the eShop site.
These include Fantasy Zone 2, Thunder Blade, Streets of Rage 2, Gunstar Heroes and Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
The company also revealed new 3DS and Wii U console game features, as well as the addition of new content to the eShop portal, during their recent Nintendo Direct announcement .
Among the new features are amiibo Cards, Mario Maker for the Wii U and the Virtual Console Service.
Nintendo President and Chief Executive Officer Satoru Iwata announced during a recent interview with TIME that the company plans to release Mario, Donkey Kong and Zelda games for smartphones and tablets.
“This is about the most drastic, bold shift in strategy Nintendo could have undertaken,” Serkan Toto, a Tokyo-based game consultant, told the Wall Street Journal .
The revelation has sparked rumors that Nintendo will release more 3DS and Wii U games available on the eShop for mobile and tablet devices later this year.
Nintendo President and Chief Operating Officer Reggie Fils-Aime recently commented on the company’s recent success in game sales and the industry as a whole.
“Nintendo has always put out content that is lasting and is content that the consumer plays for extended periods of time,” Fils-Aime said during an interview, CNET reports.
