Perhaps you’ve heard of “Persona,” “Kingdom Hearts,” “Final Fantasy” and “Star Ocean,” but it’s been quite some time since any of the above franchises have had a release.
But it looks like that will change very soon.
5, the gameplay trailer for ” Persona 5 ” was released online to great reception.
Although there have been rumors regarding a fall release date for the PS3/PS4 game, it is expected Atlus will make an official confirmation during the E3 convention this June.
Coupled with the recent gameplay demos for “Final Fantasy 15” and the announcement of “Star Ocean 5,” fans are excited for the potential revival of JRPGs around the world.
This week, Square Enix producer Shuichi Kobayashi confirmed the first “Star Ocean” title in six years, one that he wanted to make for quite some time.
“But I was in charge of marketing, so I kept hoping someone would do it, but…,” said Kobayashi to Famitsu.
“So I decided I’d go ahead and start the project.
I decided to give my life to ‘Star Ocean’ and changed departments and became in charge of production.
I’m working to make ‘Star Ocean 5’ so that not only will series fans enjoy it, but newcomers will as well, so that people will want a sequel.” And if you’re a fan of Final Fantasy, here’s the reason “Final Fantasy XV” will have an all-male cast.
“Speaking honestly, an all-male party feels almost more approachable for players,” said director Hajime Tabata.
“Even the presence of one female in the group will change their behavior, so that they’ll act differently.
So to give the most natural feeling, to make them feel sincere and honest, having them all the same gender made sense in that way.”
