Faith Hill, can ‘Breathe’ a little heavier.

The country superstar took to the Billboard Music Awards with Little Big Town to perform their controversial new single “Girl Crush.”

The four-member country group Little Big Town’s lead singer Karen Fairchild kicked off the song and Faith Hill, dressed in all-black, joined for the song’s second verse at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, on Sunday, May 17.

Tim McGraw’s wife sang lead and harmonized with the band.

“Girl Crush” is the second single released from Little Big Town’s sixth album Pain Killer.

In spite being the center of controversy for its possible lesbian theme, the song peaked at No.

1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

“I want to taste her lips, yeah cause they taste like you / I want to drown myself in a bottle of her perfume / I want her long blond hair, I want her magic touch / Yeah cause maybe then, you’d want me just as much.

I got a girl crush,” read some of the lyrics.

Some country radio stations pulled the song from air for what they describe as the song’s “gay agenda,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

At the end of the performance, the cameras caught “Empire” actress Taraji P.

Henson mouthing the word, “Beautiful,” while Taylor Swift stood up to applaud.

the Billboard Music Awards was co-hosted by Ludacris and Chrissy Teigen.

The awards show featured performances by Hozier, Mariah Carey and Nick Jonas.
