While EXO’s Tao may be experiencing difficulties with SM Entertainment, it would appear that his fans love and support him nonetheless.
Just a few days away from his 22nd birthday, fans across Asia are gearing up for the special day by planning events in Tao’s honor.
After months of donations, the Tao Forest Project is set to begin planting in Gangnam, South Korea.
Meanwhile, Tao’s fans in China have arranged a 150 person birthday party that Tao himself is rumored to attend.
Tao’s Chinese fan site, Baidu Tao Bar explained the purpose of the birthday party on its official Weibo account.
“May 2, 2015 is Tao’s 22nd birthday. In addition, it will be the first birthday for Tao after his return to the country,” reads the website (via Allkpop ) The birthday party for Tao will take place in Beijing and was prepared especially with the hopes that the fans will be able to create everlasting memories.
According to Allkpop, the Weibo post teased the possibility that Tao will attend the event to celebrate with members of the fan club.
Hopefully for the lucky fan club members, Tao will be healthy enough to make an appearance.
Soompi reports that Tao’s Forest will be built in Cheongsu Park and will be accessible by the Cheongdam subway station.
EXO’s Tao is the fifth member behind Chen, D.O., Baekhyun, and Lay to receive an honorary forest project.
Tao returned to China during EXO’s most recent “Call Me Baby” promotions due to his worsening leg injury.
Although it is yet to be confirmed by SM Entertainment, Tao’s father recently made statements to the Chinese media that Tao would be leaving EXO in order to focus on recovery in China.
SM Entertainment released a statement merely confirming that they are working actively to come to a suitable agreement with Tao’s father.
Unfortunately, no other news was released regarding Tao’s status as a member of EXO.
