John Petrucci and the rest of Dream Theater confirmed that they would be releasing a new album in the next few months after a year of being in the studio.
Guitarist Petrucci confirmed the plans of the group for their new album and revealed that Dream Theater has been recording the disc since the start of 2015 in a Loud Wire report.
Things might be going a bit slowly for the band, since they have been touring as well, but revealed that the record may have been progressing very well.
“We’ve been in the studio since January,” he said. “In fact, this tour has broken up our time in the studio. In fact, we’re doing some work here on the road as well. We’re very busy in hotel rooms, [doing] some last-minute writing and getting some things done. But, yeah, we’ve been in the studio since January.”
In addition to that, he may even have confirmed that recording may be done after claiming that they may be done with recording by this time.
“It’s going great. We’ll be wrapping up probably in the fall and it’ll come out early next year.”
Meanwhile, lead singer James LaBrie also expressed his thoughts about the new Dream Theater album, citing how excited they are for the release. He also claimed how happy he remain as a relevant name in the industry after being in the scene for almost three decades already.
“It’s pretty amazing to be in the kind of industry that we are and to say that we’ve been around for thirty years and we’re still relevant today. You know, the fact is that we still feel that we’re evolving as a band. We’re continuing to grow musically, and we see that our audience and our fan base is continually being cultivated. So, just to be in a situation as that says so much. It’s so much to be grateful for.”
