The summer is a great time to catch up on many things like reading, or sleeping, or any video games set aside for the relaxed vacation.
For “Dragon Ball” fans, this summer is going to be a time of excitement.
In addition to the previously announced all-new anime “Dragon Ball Super,” the “Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F” movie is now set to receive a limited theatrical release in the U.S this summer.
Funimation, who has licensed the film, released an English dub trailer, which fans can watch below.
Funimation CEO Gen Fukunaga recently praised the “Dragon Ball Z” film on the official Funimation blog.
“We are thrilled to bring fans – both new and old – this latest film from series creator Akira Toriyama.
‘Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ is a visually stunning movie and offers even more action and comedy than ‘Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods’,” said Fukunaga.
Funimation reports that the “Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of ‘F'” movie will be in limited theaters from August 4 through August 12.
Unfortunately, no theaters or areas where the film will screen was announced, but given the previous screening in Los Angeles, major cities will likely be the main locations.
Fans can sign-up at the official Dragon Ball Z website to be alerted for when tickets will go on sale.
Anime News Network reports that Akira Toriyama is credited with the original concept, screenplay, and character designs for the “Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of ‘F'” movie.
The film was directed by Tadayoshi Yamamuro with production handled by Toei Animation.
Summer may be officially still a few weeks away on the calendar, but since “Dragon Ball Super” and “Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F” are now both set to be released, perhaps summer will be worth all the waiting.
