Diplo Reportedly Slams Rihanna While Working On New 2015 Album: 'American Oxygen' Singer Comments On 'James Joint' And 'FourFiveSeconds'

Despite being one of the biggest pop stars in the world, Rihanna has been receiving mixed messages about her new 2015 album, tentatively codenamed R8.

According to UnrealityTV , Diplo has been called to work with Rihanna in the studio after her first few singles failed to impact the charts ahead of her new album release in 2015.

Reportedly, the producer-DJ has been less than impressed with the singer’s attitude.

“I was trying to convince her why she should do so-and-so and thinking, ‘Lean On’ is bigger than any of her songs around the world right now,” said Diplo.

“Why am I even sitting here trying to negotiate?” Diplo went on to state that he was not actually interested in working with Rihanna in the first place.

“I honestly was not that interested in working on her record but I’ll never say no to anybody until I’ve gotten a vibe from them,” he said.

During an interview with V Magazine , Rihanna spoke on the various interludes that are expected to come with her 2015 new album, including the recently revealed “James Joint.” “Dude, I’m in love with my interludes,” said Rihanna.

“This one called ‘James’ is on constant repeat.” The “American Oxygen” singer described the sound of the upcoming album as “soulful and aggressive, whether it’s lyrically, musically or just the tone of my voice.” “I run away from anything that does not stimulate me.

I often find myself gravitating toward the underground,” she said.

“There is a certain creative freedom there that you can’t experience anywhere else.” According to Latin Post , Rihanna is set to perform “James Joint” during the season finale of “Saturday Night Live” on May 16.
