After the scandal that broke the silence of Sony following their recent hack that had movies and games have leaked information, the upcoming “Uncharted” movie garnered some leaks about the movie’s cast and release date.
In a report by IB Times, included in the latest Wiki Leaks of Julian Assange of the recent Sony Hack includes information about the upcoming “Uncharted” movie.
With already a similar story compared to the Nicolas Cage movie “National Treasure,” Columbia Pictures senior vice president Jonathan Kadin has a challenge for himself and the studio to make the upcoming film different and not give the impression of having the same storyline.
“‘National Treasure’ is fun no doubt, but ‘Uncharted’ takes the action adventure movie to a more grounded, contemporary and visceral level, and we need to do that given what audiences have been exposed to since the ‘National Treasure’ movies,” Kadin said.
“So, we’ll get the kids for sure, but we’ll have a movie that can be strong enough–and ‘cool’ enough–for adults.” Cast for the Nathan Drake role, meanwhile, is still in question after a number of actors reportedly dropped the role.
However, as pointed out by Game Spot , Seth Gordon is still on the lookout for potential cast members, which includes the like of Chris Hemsworth, Mark Wahlberg or Channing Tatum to play the character.
“I want it to be a great actor,” Gordon said.
“That’s number one, and then if it’s someone who has an actual jaw, that’s even better.
The game is so well done that you need it to live up to that.
There’s no way we’d do the inverse of that where it’s somebody famous who can’t [act].” With no “Uncharted” movie cast members listed as of now, speculations rise that the movie would be released by 2018 if production starts this year or next year.
