It has been reported that a new “Death Note” live action series will be released some time in fall this year. According to Zaikei News , this will be the first sequel of the “Death Note” live action film in 2006 which was directed by Shinsuke Sato.
“Death Note” is one of the highly-anticipated series for anime and manga, created by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. The upcoming “Death Note” live action 2016 film will be set on different storyline along with interesting characters, according to Anime News Network .
It is set in a world where cyber terrorism is more common. Because of the great chaos, new characters with the DNA of Light and “L” have risen. This time, these successors will engage in war over the six “Death Note.” The vital point of this film would be “Six Note Rule,” where six “Death Note” with its corresponding Shinigamis will exist in the human world at a time. Hence, only those six Shinigamis that have passed the “Death Note” to their respective humans are allowed to exist.
In another report by Anime News Network , it was revealed that the stars appearing in this film will be Masaki Suda as Yugi Shion (a cyber-terrorist who admires Kira), Rina Kawaei as Sakura Aoi (the most terrible “Death Note” user ever), Mina Fujii as Sho Nanase (an investigator for the “Death Note” task force), Erika Toda as Misa Amane, Sosuke Ikematsu as Ryuzaki (L’s successor) and Masahiro Higashide as Tsukuru Mishima (an investigator pursuing the “Death Note”).
The filming will be held in overseas location, though there has been no information where they will specifically have their shooting. However it was confirm that it will be distributed by the Warner Brothers .
“Death Note” is a story of an intelligent student, Light Yagami, who happened to discover a notebook owned by Ryuk, a Shinigami. This notebook has the power to kill anyone after their name has been written in it and has given the user the ability to choose how the person will be killed.
Blinded by his own justice, he began to eliminate criminals which resulted to him being chased by the government authorities and L, a detective who wanted to stop him.
