The hallyu wave is indeed reaching not only nearby Asian shores, but also travels up to the West. Recently, rising K-pop artists Dean , Eric Nam , and the boy group B.I.G.  are seen performing on stage in Los Angeles, California for the Kore Asian Media’s ” Unforgettable Gala “.
The said event was conducted by Kore Asian Media to honor distinguished Asian Americans who have contributed a lot in the entertainment industry in their respective countries and even in USA. Officially K-Music noted that some of the prominent artists who were recipient of awards are the Wong Fu Productions and actor George Takei. Moreover, both Dean and Eric Nam were featured alongside 2NE1’s CL in Time magazine as the K-pop stars who are trying to enter the American market. It seems that the two, together with the new boy group B.I.G. have a promising career apart from South Korea. For those who are pretty new to K-pop and to the said artists, here are some fast facts about them. Dean is a 24-year-old RNB artist who is known for his hit collaborations with artists like Girls’ Generations’ Taeyeon and the Bermuda triangle featuring Crush and Block B’s Zico. Despite being new in the industry, his songs kept on being on the charts such as the prestigious Billboard ranking where his collaboration with Crush and Zico made it to number 3 after performing their song on the recently concluded Mnet Asian Music Awards. On the other hand, Eric Nam became a household name in South Korea because of his exposures as a frequent MC. He was known for his shows like “After School Club” and his newest hosting gig for Mnet with comedian Yang Se Hyung entitled “Yang and Nam”. He also became famous during his feature as a virtual couple alongside Mamamoo’s Solar in “We Got Married”. Despite being too busy with his hosting jobs, Eric Nam continuously promoted his music in Korea and in USA. As one of the newest K-pop boy groups, B.I.G. came from GH Entertainment, an entertainment known for producing topnotch actors and is starting to venture into the K-pop world. Even if they’re new in the scene, they won awards such as the Rookie Group of the Year and being brand ambassadors of different organizations and companies. Kpop Starz sends its best of lucks to these three artists for their endeavors. Fighting!
