Victoria Beckham spoke for the first time about the rumors pestering her marriage to David Beckham.
In an exclusive interview with Grazia UK , the former Spice Girls member-turned-fashion designer insisted she ignores the rumors as she and her husband don’t need to prove anything with regard to their relationship.
“I have never listened to, or commented on, the rumours about any aspect of my life,” she explained to the magazine. “I am blessed to have a wonderful husband and beautiful, healthy, happy children. Yes, we travel a lot with our respective businesses and charitable commitments, but we always make time for each other as a couple and as a family.”
“David and I have nothing to prove,” she further said. “We love each other, look out for each other and are strong as both partners and parents.”
Amid the recent success of her New York Fashion Week show that was attended David and Brooklyn Beckham, Victoria Beckham also expressed her admiration for her retired husband.
“My husband constantly inspires me and guides me — he has done so much good work, I look up to him and have the utmost respect and admiration for all that he has achieved,” she told Grazia as quoted by Huffington Post .
Just days ago, the former Spice Girls member also took to Instagram to show how proud she was of her retired football player husband, who will be part of a charity match for UNICEF in November.
The respect and admiration seemed mutual though as the retired soccer player gushed about his wife to ABC News.
“We’ve been together for 18 years, we’ve been married for 16 years so you trust each other’s judgment,” he said. “I think that has worked for us.”
“My wife, you know, she’s a hard worker,” he added.
Despite their good relationship, the former soccer player did admit to Entertainment Tonight that he still gets in trouble with his former Spice Girls member wife.
“I have no power with that little girl — no power whatsoever,” he said about daughter Harper Beckham. “I love all my children, of course, equally but I’m definitely stricter with the boys than I am Harper, which gets me in trouble with my wife of course.”
According to Biography , David and Victoria met back in 1997 and got married in 1999. In an interview with Barbara Walters in 2007, David said their marriage was for “forever.”
“Of course it is,” David Beckham said about her marriage to Victoria Beckham. “We wouldn’t have got married if it wasn’t.”
