Meanwhile, in a report by Relix, Rolling Stone was able to talk to Dave Matthews, which hinted about the progress of their new album.
“I’ve been in the studio trying to get a couple of things ready for the band to go back in, having fun,” Matthews said.
“I’m just trying to come up with something that doesn’t sound like the past.” Numerous songs were reported to have been written and the band is ready to lay down a few tracks for recording, which he is excited to play for their fans.
“There are some songs the band has been playing for a long time,” he hinted.
“And then whenever I start messing around in the studio, I start writing, so hopefully we can come up with something worth listening to.” As previously stated and reported by Rolling Stone, the band will hit the road in May, where Dave Matthews Band is expected to play two nights in each city, giving fans a unique show every night.
“[Matthews] checks with what was played at each venue over the past five years, and also what’s been played the past couple of nights and how far we are from these areas,” Lessard said.
“So, if you’re playing somewhere that’s only an hour away from where you played last night, you’re gonna try and write a set that is very different from the one before.
He’s keeping tabs on all of the different elements.” Meanwhile, the complete tour dates for Dave Matthews Band are listed in the band’s official site , where they are scheduled to start their first show in Texas on May 13.
