Exlcusive footage of “Daredevil” season 2 was screened at the 2015 New York Comic-Con on Saturday night.
Variety has published a description of the exclusive footage shown at the convention.
Ahead of the series’ return in 2016, Marvel’s Head of Television Jeph Loeb introduced a brief clip that featured footage from season one before transitioning to previously-unreleased season two scenes, featuring Matt Murdock and his friends Foggy Nelson and Karen Page sitting in a church, as Murdock says in a voiceover, “Why do I still feel guilty?”
“Guilt can be a good thing,” Father Lantom said. The teaser then cuts to Murdock in full Daredevil costume descending some stairs; Foggy apprehended by police; Elektra putting on a mask on the lower half of her face; Karen looking at an x-ray of a skull that “suspiciously” resembles The Punisher’s logo; and Frank Castle a.k.a. The Punisher walking down a hall with a gun “as his voice ominously intones, ‘Beg.'”
New “Daredevil” showrunners Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez who joined the cast onstage during the panel said that they’ll raise the bar even further with season 2 – “you wanted grounded, you wanted dark, here’s Elektra, here’s Punisher, Ramirez told fans.
“We love two things: one of them is Matt Murdock, and the other is the world that Matt Murdock navigates,” Petrie added. “Last year, Steven [DeKnight] and Drew [Goddard] did a great job of introducing that world… This year, we get to test that world, take it further, [make it] darker, more emotional.”
“Daredevil” stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock a.k.a. Daredevil, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Rosario Dawson as Night Nurse, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elodie Yung as Elektra and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle a.k.a. The Punisher.
Marvel’s “Daredevil” season 2 returns to Netflix in 2016.
