Phillip Jack “Phil” Brooks, aka CM Punk, is “the longest-reigning WWE Champion of the modern era.” He held the belt 434 days from November 20, 2011 to January 27, 2013.
CM Punk is the sixth-longest reigning WWE Champion of all time.
On July 15, 2014, WWE pulled CM Punk from the active roster. CM Punk said was “never ever” going to return to wrestling later that month.
Now, in spite of months of nasty press, rumors and growling, it appears that CM Punk and the WWE may be making nice.
Reports say CM Punk will return to the WWE.
According to Pro Wrestling Smarks, CM Punk will end his retirement right around the time that Sting makes his WWE debut.
The magazine speculated that WWE is setting up the return of CM Punk as a “party crasher.” There have been rumors that Sting will wrestle the winner of the Brock Lesnar vs John Cena match at Summerslam 2014.
CM Punk is a seven-time world champion.
He held the ROH World Championship and ECW Championship.
He won WWE’s World Heavyweight Championship three times, and the WWE Championship twice.
Along with Kofi Kingston, CM Punk won the World Tag Team Championshipand the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
Punk is the 19th WWE Triple Crown Champion and he did it in in 203 days, the fastest time on record.
