Chris Brown’s daughter will finally get his last name. According to a report from TMZ , the “Loyal” singer and his baby mama, Nia Guzman, seem to be making peace for the sake of their one-year-old child, Royalty.
Insiders revealed that the two parents have agree to joint physical and legal custody. Chris Brown can have his daughter for 12 days every month, which is contrary to the supervised visitation arrangement that Nia Guzman initially proposed.
The court also decided that Chris Brown’s daughter will carry his last name to officially become Royalty Brown.
As for Chris Brown and Nia Guzman’s long-running disagreements about Royalty’s finances, the court has decided that the R&B star will be providing the former model with $2,500 in monthly child support.
Chris Brown is also required to pay her $15,000 in back support and provide for Royalty’s schooling, health insurance, medical bills and nannies.
Details about the custody hearing also revealed that a drug test submitted by Chris Brown tested him positive for both weed and codeine. However, the Grammy winner supposedly has prescription for both drugs.
Chris Brown has also been making more lifestyle changes after his recently-concluded custody battle.
According to Hollywood Life , the former bad boy has even decided to cut down on drinking in order for him to be a better father.
“Chris is weening himself off drinking and other stuff he does because he wants to be healthy, have a clear mind, and be a completely conscious and sober parent,” an insider shared.
“He doesn’t want anyone or anything clouding his mind or judgment. He wants to witness every little single thing Royalty does with a clear mind. He wants to fill his mind with sober memories of her doing the smallest things like tying her shoes, being potty trained… you name it.”
“His life and world is now Royalty and everything else that doesn’t serve that he’s cutting out!” the insider added.
