Cha Tae Hyun Makes Directorial Debut Via 'Greatest One Shot'; KBS2 Beefs Up Friday Sarurday Line-Up To Appeal To Younger Market

KBS2 has streamlined its programming and announced its new line-up of shows for the weekend starting June in order to reach out to a younger demographic. Among those included in the new line-up is Cha Tae Hyun’s debut project as a PD, as well as expanded time slots for its lifestyle and entertainment shows. According to Soompi , the change in the line-up will involve the schedule for Friday and Saturday and will also affect the roster for KBS2 dramas. the move is expected to appeal to the much coveted 20-40 year old demographic which makes up a huge part of the target audience.
“KBS2TV aims to provide a youthful channel for viewers in the ages between 20 and 40,” KBS2 announced in their statement. “We will be introducing new programs and schedules in June.” Cha Tae Hyun will be making his debut as a PD via the “Greatest One Shot” which he will be doing along with PDs Seo Soo Min and Yoo Ho Jin. The drama was earlier reported to revolve around a K-pop superstar and a K-pop trainee who will do everything to achieve his dreams to debut. The drama is set to premiere on June 2 at 11 pm and will feature Cha Tae Hyun’s “2 Days and 1 Night” castmate Yoon Si Yoon and “Goblin” actor Kim Min Jae in the lead roles. KBS2’s entertainment line-up is also expected to get a revamp with the expanded timeslot of travel show “Battle Trip”. The show which features Korean celebrities as they go on an adventure in different locations will now be aired for 90 minutes and start earlier at 9:15 pm starting June 3. The show used to air at 10:40 pm. “Entertainment Weekly” which used to air on Saturdays, will also be moved up by one day and begin airing every Friday starting June 2. KBS 2 is not the only network revamping its line-up of shows as it has been reported that MBC is already reviewing and updating its line up to provide fresh content to its viewers, Kpopstarz reported.
