ABC has announced a new showrunner who will replace outgoing David Amman for “Castle” season 8 renewal.
However, Stana Katic’s return remains uncertain.
According to the report from TVLine , Terence Paul has been writing “Castle” episodes for a long time.
It was back in season 2, in fact, when he was named producer after writing two episodes.
Terrence Paul “rose through the ranks, and was promoted to EP in the middle of this season,” the article said.
“Episodes he has written include ‘The Blue Butterfly,’ ‘Veritas’ and ‘Once Upon a Time in the West.'” He will join Alexi Hawley of “State of Affairs” as co-showrunner of “Castle” season 8 renewal.
Although the Katherine Heigl-starrer was axed after just 13 episodes, Hawley’s credits-which include “The Following” and “Body of Proof”-are nothing to sneeze at.
“Season 8 now has a renewal,” said Variety .
“Showrunners and a male lead in Nathan Fillion who firmed up his deal back in April, but Stana Katic is still up in the air, as she hasn’t yet reached an agreement to return.” Sincer her marriage to long-time boyfriend Kris Brkljac last month, there’s not a statement from Stana with regards to “Castle” season 8 renewal.
But that shouldn’t come as a surprise as the actress already hinted that she will be in hiatus for a while in an Instagram post.
Stana Katic shared a selfie with the two showrunners which she captioned, “These are my men.
Before I go radio silent, I want to single out these two: Rob Bowman & Andrew Marlowe…
What an incredible creative collaboration! I will go anywhere with these two.
Their commitment to great storytelling, their incredible work ethic & their talent made them a dynamic pairing.
#Kinetic #Love.” Nathan Fillion already agreed to reprise his role as Rick for “Castle” season 8 renewal.
“An ABC spokesperson confirms that Nathan Fillion has signed a new deal to continue on as the title character for Season 8, if the show is picked up for the 2015-16 TV season,” said Yahoo .
