Bruce Jenner, the former Olympic gold medalist who stars on “Keeping Up With The Kardashians,” will be opening up in an ABC News Special.

ABC will air a two-hour interview between Bruce Jenner and Diane Sawyer.

ABC News will air the two-hour interview on the second day of TV’s May sweeps period

Rumors have been flowing that the 65-year-old Keeping Up With The Kardashians star is transitioning to live his life as a woman.

ABC News said in a statement that the interview was “far-ranging and exclusive.” Jenner is part of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians reality TV series on NBCUniversal’s E! Jenner is married to Kris Kardashian, the mother of Kim Kardashian and the whole reality-TV clan Bruce Jenner is already moving away from the Kardashians.

According to reports Jenner pulled out of the reported $100 million deal the Kardashians signed for their reality show.

According to reports, Jenner also hired publicist Alan Nierob to help him in his independence.

“His brand has been diluted and controlled by the Kardashians,” The Brand Identity Center founder Chad Kawalec told TheWrap.

“And all of the associations that go with that is what he’s breaking from.

And one of those associations is E!.

It’s all of those pieces where he’s basically saying ‘I am no longer in the shadow of that brand.

I am taking control of this brand now.’ I think he’s doing it in a really smart way.” Boy George says he’s “a big fan” of the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star and applauds his transition into a woman.

“I absolutely applaud what he’s doing and I think it’s very brave.

And it actually makes me quite emotional,” Boy George told People magazine.

“Bruce’s primary goal is to bring awareness to this issue in order to help others [in the transgender community],” a source told People magazine.

“He is not sure that E! and a reality show is the best format to do that.” US Weekly reported that Jenner would make an announcement for an E! reality show documenting his  “full transformation.” E! airs “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” The Bruce Jenner Diane Sawyer full interview will run as a special edition of “20/20″ starting at 9 p.m.

Eastern on Friday, April 24.
