Bristol Palin confirmed that she has called off her wedding to fiance, Dakota Meyer.
Earlier this month, Sarah Palin and her daughter announced on their Facebook page that the wedding would not be pushing through.
“Bristol and Dakota couldn’t be more thankful for the love and support of family and friends over the past months while preparing for their wedding,” Palin posted.
“They have informed loved ones that unfortunately the announced celebration planned for May 23 will not be held.” The former Alaska governor added that the that the Palin and Meyer families were still going to get together for the weekend to “celebrate life, in general!” The wedding was supposed to take place in Kentucky.
It was unclear then whether the wedding was canceled or postponed for a later date. But Bristol did not attend the celebration, as she reportedly posted photos of herself in Alaska on that weekend.
On Tuesday, the 24-year-old addressed the issue on a blog , where she wrote, “I feel like I need to address the elephant-in-the-room on this blog since you guys have been with me through thick and thin.” “When I first got engaged, you were the first ones I wanted to tell,” she added.
“I guess you have seen by now that the wedding – that was supposed to happen last weekend – was called off,” she continued.
” I’m sure you’ve seen this has been all over the media, but this is a painful time for family and friends and I would just really appreciate your prayers.” “I know God’s plan is greater than anything else, and Tripp and I are in Alaska beginning to rebuild our lives under much different circumstances than we anticipated,” she explained.
“Thank you for all of your love and support.” The media previously reported that Bristol’s fiance, Dakota Meyer had a previous wife that he kept secret from her.
