“Blade 4” might be on its way according to franchise star Wesley Snipes, “if the script was right.” Since Marvel reacquired the rights from New Line, rumors of another “Blade” installment has been circling the interwebs.
But with Marvel only churning out two to three films per year, will the superhero studio have enough time to give the daywalker another go at the big screen? “If Marvel owned Spider-Man and X-Men for instance, you’d never get your recent record-breaking hit known as Guardians of the Galaxy,” according to Screen Rant .
Marvel boss Kevin Feige shed light on the issue in an interview with Entertainment Weekly .
“So Punisher, Ghost Rider, Blade, all those characters are back,” he revealed. They all have potential, but I think we need to find the right time.
We’re not going to say, we got it back – make it.” The last movie, “Blade: Trinity,” was considered by many to be the franchise’s most uncsuccessful movie.
Which leads to the question, should Marvel reboot the series? Patton Oswalt, who appeared in “Trinity,” revealed what it was like filming the third movie.
“It was a very troubled production,” Oswalt told A.V.
“Wesley [Snipes] was just fucking crazy in a hilarious way.
He wouldn’t come out of his trailer, and he would smoke weed all day.” “We were in Vancouver, and it was always raining,” the comedian shared.
“Then I remember one day on the set-they let everyone pick their own clothes-there was one black actor who was also kind of a club kid.
And he wore this shirt with the word “Garbage” on it in big stylish letters.” “And Wesley came down to the set, which he only did for close-ups,” and says “There’s only one other black guy in the movie, and you make him wear a shirt that says ‘Garbage?’ You racist m———–!” To date, Marvel hasn’t made any official announcements regarding “Blade 4.”
