Following up to their 2012 release “Bloom,” Beach House is now reported to be done with their new album after they announced the official release date of the record together with a complete tour date.
In a report by Pitchfork , the new Beach House album, entitled “Depression Cherry” is expected to drop on Aug.
28 in North America after Sub Pop records is scheduled to release the record in North America.
In addition to that, tour dates have already been announced for the band, which would stretch from August until December, where they would travel across North America and a few countries in Europe during the time span.
Record producers Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally talked about Beach House’s upcoming record and gave importance to how simple the record has become.
“In general, this record shows a return to simplicity, with songs structured around a melody and a few instruments, with live drums playing a far lesser role,” they said.
“With the growing success of ‘Teen Dream’ and ‘Bloom,’ the larger stages and bigger rooms naturally drove us towards a louder, more aggressive place; a place farther from our natural tendencies.
Here, we continue to let ourselves evolve while fully ignoring the commercial context in which we exist.” Furthermore, in the same report, the group talked about how the got the title “Depression Cherry” to play a role in the LP creation.
