On the “Batman V Superman” front, the latest rumor claims that supervillain Doomsday will make an appearance in DC’s crossover film.
The scoop comes from Latino Review’s reporter Umberto Gonzales , who attended the Shanlian on Batman podcast where exclusive “BvS” details were discussed.
In the comic books, Doomsday a.k.a.
“The Ultimate,” is a large & monstrous creature born from the depths of Krypton.
The character is best known as the villain who killed Superman in the 1992 storyline “The Death of Superman.” Earlier this year, rumor had it that Michael Shannon (who portrayed General Zod in Man of Steel) would return in “Dawn of Justice.” According to Screen Rant, Lex Luthor would experiment on Zod’s body, triggering what they call the “Doomsday genome.” The new rumor coincides with an article from Screen Rant back in August last year.
According to their report, a film extra revealed details about the movie’s opening sequence.
“[Batman V Superman starts] as the battle between Superman and General Zod ends or is ending and Batman/Bruce Wayne is attempting to make his way to the Wayne tower in Metropolis.” Another important detail about “Batman V Superman” surfaced during the podcast.
Regarding the famous line “do you bleed?” in the movie’s first trailer, Gonzales was asked if it was Doomsday (and not Batman) who popped the question, to which he explained the line is originally part of a dream sequence in the film.
Gonzales did not reveal anything else after that.
“Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” is the sequel to 2013’s “Man of Steel,” the film that kicked-off DC’s cinematic narrative.
It stars Henry Cavill reprising his role as Superman, and Ben Affleck as the new Batman; Jason Momoa’s Aquaman and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman will also be introduced in the film.
Additional cast members include Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth and Jesse Eisenberg as Lext Luthor.
The movie releases in U.S.
theaters on Mar.
