Everyone knows K-Pop songs are super catchy, so it is no surprise that their casual lyrics combined with these catchy, rhythmical beats will have you repeating these verses all day long. Whether you realized it or not, these lyrics can actually be commonly used when speaking Korean! Check out these 10 songs that will have you mastering (some) Korean in no time! If you want to start with the basics, you need 4Minute. They will have you striking up a conversation in no time with the useful phrase, “What’s Your Name?” A cute and common question is to ask “What’re You Doing?” Thanks to San E you can ask that question with confidence – just don’t forget it is banmal (informal language)! I mean, not that we really ever want to say this word and mean it, but Korean’s use the term for a “Heart Attack” in a cute way for example, if you see your idol and feel like your heart is racing or even when you’re scared! When your friends visit and you never want them to leave. We all know that feeling, so you better tell them “Don’t Go Home” in Korea or show them this
There are a lot of K-Pop groups that have left us in tears this year with the announcement of their disbandments. However, their legacy lives on through our iPod’s, cell phones and YouTube playlists. Yet, we still ache for just ONE MORE song from them! Check out the list of K-Pop groups we need to see a comeback from? SISTAR were the goddess of making Korea’s hit summer tracks. Now, they have gone on to lead their own individual lives and careers. 2NE1 were, without a doubt, the rising force and trendsetters of K-Pop. However, due to group inactivity, Park Bom’s drug scandal and leader CL’s overseas schedules, the group faded and we miss them dearly. Rainbow wasn’t in the spotlight as much as other groups mentioned here, but it doesn’t mean they didn’t make any memorable hits. The group had a fun and unforgettable style that we definitely welcome back into K-Pop any day. The Wonder Girls had made history for years and years. Both in Korea and overseas, The Wonder Girls were a familiar name when mentioning K-Pop and we want them back! The talented vocalists of SPICA were an unforgettable group. Their concepts were
ONE, YG Entertainment’s newest solo rap artist, has finally made his debut with two lead tracks. His songs “Heyahe” and “Gettin’ By” are already gaining mass attention. “Heyahe” panders to the trends as it consists of the usual trap beats mixed with a chill, ethereal-influence. The song has similar elements to Drake’s music. Check out the MV below and get of taste of this solo artist’s new flavor. “Gettin’ By” is another great rap track that has a more upbeat and carefree style. The song has similar aspects to K-Pop hits such as “Airplane” by iKON. Surprisingly, this song has recorded 200,000 less views despite having a summer theme that is more fit for this season. Check out the MV below and let us know which MV is the most captivating to you! ONE is set to perform his debut tracks on shows this upcoming weekend. Many fans are already in love with the young rapper’s smooth voice and clean looks. It seems YG Entertainment has been dominating the K-Pop scene with each artist they release.
It seems that the worldwide phenomenon PSY and his record-breaking hit video “Gangnam Style” is no longer the talk of the town anymore. The video has recently lost its title of “Most Watched Video” and YouTube and was beat out by another artist. The video was shockingly beaten by American rapper Wiz Khalifa. Wiz Khalifa’s latest song feat. Charlie Puth ‘s titled ” See You Again ” is the latest hit to strip PSY of his title. While PSY’s song still reigns supreme being the first video to ever reach over 1 billion views, it seems there are other one-hit wonders and talented artists reaching into PSY’s claim to international fame. PSY’s “Gangnam Style” music video currently clocks in at 2,894,240,086 views with Wiz Khalifa’s music video having 2,894,763,860 views. That is roughly 500,000 more views. K-Pop fans are expecting fellow K-Poppers to join in on increasing the views and bringing PSY back to his original place. However, this isn’t the end for PSY as he is still creating music and moving forward with his recent release “I LUV IT.” Although Wiz Khalifa’s two-year-old song made it to the top, for now, it doesn’t mean another song (K-Pop song included) can steal
It appears that Black Pink’s Jennie wasn’t just born with all of this natural talent – she had a little help from the company backend and that help came from none other than Big Bang’s leader, G-Dragon! During the July 10th broadcast of MBC FM4U’s ‘Jung Yoo Mi’s FM Date’ with guest stars Black Pink, Jennie opened up about how G-Dragon helped her as a trainee and the methods of mastering filming for MVs and photoshoots. She recalled the moments on stage with the legendary singer G-Dragon himself. The girls openly mentioned, “Our trainee days were long. It was such a touching moment when we won first place for the very first time.” However, member Jennie further explained her experienced and revealed, “Before my debut, there was a time when I was able to stand on stage with G-Dragon sunbaenim. I didn’t know the basics back then so I found myself being lost most of the time since I didn’t know how to look at the camera.” It seems the advice stuck nicely, as Jennie appears like a natural pro in any and every photoshoot. The statements Jennie gave early were actually a reference to her first stage prior to
It seems that K-Pop has been nothing but a battlefield for love, left and right lately. Sadly, as quickly as they got together, Sulli and Kim Min Jun confirmed their breakup earlier today. The two made for quite a cute couple but seemed to have had some hidden clashes that fans and media couldn’t have seen. It was reported on May 10th that the two were dating for two months prior to their public announcement, meaning they started dating in early March right after breaking up with Choiza. Sulli and Kim Min Jun met among mutual friends. Kim Min Jun is actually a brand producer who established his own hip-hop crew called ‘360 Sounds’ back in 2005. Unfortunately though, Kim Min Jun explained his reasoning for breaking up with Sulli. Kim Min Jun announced his breakup with Sulli on his private social media account. He explained that he could no longer continue the relationship with the idol star due to “the overwhelming amount of attention.” Now Sulli is single again and fans are hoping she will have more time to focus on her career since she has been inactive aside from her recent movie “Real.” The two had only dated
We all know CL has done some work with the hit American group the Black Eyed Peas in the past, but now it seems they have more of a future together than you would expect. Rumor has it that CL will become their new lead vocalist. The singer worked with The Black Eyed Peas and American rapper Nicki Minaj in the past, helping create their unique music video for “Check It Out.” Currently, CL has been working hard at starting and maintaining a successful career in the states. She was set to release an album but hasn’t yet. However, after releasing hits such as “Dr. Pepper” and “Hello Bitches” about 2 years ago and with the disbandment of 2NE1, CL has found herself rather stagnant in the states. Although, lead singer Fergie of The Black Eyed Peas recently stepped down from the position and fans wonder who will take her place. However, there seem to be some mixed reports. Although The Black Eyed Peas announced their comeback for this August, the close relationship they have with CL isn’t enough to guarantee a spot in their group. Despite Fergie’s departure, Will.I.Am. stated himself on his personal Twitter, “Lies… Fergie is focusing
