Anne Meara, Ben Stiller’s Mom, is confirmed to be dead.
She was 85 years of age.
Anne was married to Jerry Stiller for 61 years before her death, together, they share a son who happens to be one of Hollywood’s biggest celebrities, Ben Stiller.
Her actual cause of death is yet to be known and is yet to be reported on by news sites.
However, fans are speculating that she might have died due to poor health.
Meara, according to them, is a smoker.
This could probably be the reason why her health could have deteriorated over the past years, which ultimately lead to her passing. As reported by KTLA , An official statement was released by the Stiller family to announce Anne Meara’s death.
“Anne’s memory lives on in the hearts of daughter Amy, son Ben, her grandchildren, her extended family and friends, and the millions she entertained as an actress, writer and comedienne,” the statement read.
Her son, Ben Stiller has yet to release an official statement from his end about the news. As reported by CNN , Meara entered Hollywood with the hopes of pursuing a career in serious acting.
However, she changed genres when she met Jerry Stiller, who was to eventually be her husband. “I was glad he got us to be a comedy team because then we weren’t just waiting for the agent to call,” the late comedienne said in a previous interview that was cited by the source linked above.
“We traveled with our own stuff.” Numerous celebrities took to Twitter to express their grief and send their condolences to the Meara-Stiller family, including Patty Duke. “My heart and prayers go out to Jerry and Ben for the loss of their beloved Anne Meara,” tweeted Duke.
