Box-office predictions are leaning towards “Pitch Perfect 2” as the likely big winner, and Anna Kendrick chalks up the franchise’s success to the chemistry on the set.
Meanwhile, the “Cups” singer gave back to charity by participating in a skit for Red Nose Day.
In an interview with Glamour UK , Anna Kendrick described her relationship with the rest of the girls in “Pitch Perfect 2” as a lot like school.
“Some of the girls got me into The Bachelor, so that became a group texting moment for us, and when you get back together, you remember every little quirk of everyone’s personalities,” Anna Kendrick said.
“Because we’re basically shooting the same movie again – different scenarios, but in a lot of ways, very much the same, so it was trippy.” “It was like, didn’t we make this already? Was the first one just a fever dream? Or a premonition, and this is actually the real thing?” Anna Kendrick added.
She also said that “Pitch Perfect 2” found a formula that sells.
The first movie raked in only a little more than $65 million at the tills, but the figures more than doubled after videos-on-demand and iTunes downloads.
“You put together some singing and dancing and slick camera moves, and then throw in a couple of vagina jokes, and people like it,” she said.
When she’s not singing acapella for “Pitch Perfect 2,” Anna Kendrick lent her comedic talents for Red Nose Day as she appeared on a sketch as a female Indiana Jones in the three-hour NBC special to be aired on May 21.
“In this exclusive sneak peek clip, Kendrick, 29, is on a quest to find the Holy Grail, just like the real Indiana Jones.
She picks up a goblet as a nearby knight (Brett Gelman) says, ‘Such a plain cup for such a pretty lady,'” reported Us Weekly .
Anna Kendrick’s character then cracked her whip before saying, “Man, I’m a respected professor of archaeology.
Times have changed! I have degrees! Have you even been to college?”
