Akon recently purchased a bulletproof van for an African president, said a report from TMZ .

The “I Wanna Love You” singer’s purchase came amid news of his cancelled Kuwait concert.

Personnel from Florida’s The Auto Firm said the 2014 Mercedes Sprinter was reportedly ordered by the R&B singer last year.

Just recently, the $350,000 vehicle was reinforced by Akon to become a bulletproof van.

According to sources, Akon purchased the bulletproof van for an African president.

However, he would not reveal who exactly it is for.

The white exteriors of the vehicle makes it look low-key.

However, the interior highlights of Akon’s bulletproof 8-seater van include DirecTV, surround sound, and other iPad features.

The buzz about Akon’s bulletproof van came after the announcement of his cancelled concert in Kuwait.

According to a report from Arabian Business , the cancellation was made after Kuwaiti law officials slammed the concert on moral grounds.

An organizer from Akon’s cancelled Kuwait concert mentioned that authorities pulled the plug on the show last week without clarifying the issue.

However, sources revealed that the Islam territory reportedly frowned upon Akon’s highly sexual songs, such as “Smack That” and other club hits.

“If the US singer who is well known for his terrible lyrics is allowed to perform, we will not hesitate to move against anything that touches our religion and our morals,” said a certain MP Humood Al Hamdan, reported by local daily Al Rai .

“We need to protect our children and make sure they are not influenced by negative people.” “There must be a zero-tolerance policy towards such matters,” the official added.

Arab Times Online  said the Akon was disappointed with the cancellation his Kuwait.

The singer also reportedly apologized to his fans.

Prior to Akon’s cancelled Kuwait concert, the hip-hop recording artist was first banned in the country of Sri Lanka.

According to a report from Movie Pilot , the Sri Lankan government and people were outraged because of his music video for “Sexy Chick.” The said video reportedly showed a very sexual pool party, and featured a highly visible Buddah statue on the background.
