Although Aerosmith is set to hit the road with their 2015 tour, talks about a new album for the band has been denied by its members to happen.
With a full schedule for the group and solo projects that has been keeping other members busy, the group revealed that they would ponder more on the tour rather than work on a follow up release to their 2013 release “Rock For The Rising Sun.”
It was revealed in a recent Ultimate Classic Rock report that vocalist Steven Tyler has been busy working on his own career and is looking to continue with his own thing after the tour of the group.
“Steven is working on a solo album that he’s been wanting to do for the last 20 years,” guitarist Brad Whitford claimed in an interview.
“I think a good deal of inspiration may come out of that – he may want to continue to write.” In addition to that, Whitford denied the rumors that the band is working on a new album and claimed that they have no plans for now but confirmed the possibility of them heading to the studio to create something for their fans.
“We’re not currently in the studio or anything.
We’re not quite sure when we might get back,” he added.
“Maybe at some point this year we might record some new music.
Currently, no plans.” To make matters even worse for the Aerosmith new album rumor, Rolling Stone revealed that the band is now out of Sony’s hands and are working as “free agents for now.” “Our contract to Sony is fulfilled and we’re free agents right now,” Joe Perry said.
“We’re trying to figure out what that means.
I don’t even know if making new albums makes sense anymore.
Maybe we’ll just release an EP every six months.
I don’t know what the future looks like.”
