It has already been more than a month since 2NE1 was disbanded and still, most Blackjacks still think that YG Entertainment made an error by disbanding one of Korea’s top girl groups. But still, even with the disbandment, the group’s former members are all still active in the game and have expressed their plans for their individual careers.
Now if you’re wondering what CL, Bom, Dara and Minzy has been up to following their split, you should know that each of them still have big plans for their individual careers. CL Even before 2NE1 disbanded CL, whose real name is Lee Chaerin, has always dreamed of breaking into the American music scene and has already made her first strides this 2016 when she released her English-language song “Lifted” which she even got to perform at the ‘Late Late Show with James Corden.’ When YG announced 2NE1’s disbandment, CL was on the last leg of her successful North American tour. With YG and Scooter Braun (Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande’s manager) by her side, CL is definitely on the way to conquering the US! TIME Magazine had recently made a feature about her and regarded her as the ‘future of K-pop in America.’ Just recently, the singer-rapper and former leader of 2NE1, posted hints of a new music video on her Instagram account. Park Bom Park Bom has been out of the limelight for quite some time now but recently, she confirmed via Twitter that she is still a singer and fans can definitely hope that 2NE1’s disbandment isn’t the end of her career, Allkpop reports. Known for her unique vocals, it would be such a shame if she’d quit singing.   Gong Minzy Maknae Minzy was the first to leave 2NE1 early this year and is now signed with The Music Works. Minzy had confirmed early this month that she plans on releasing new music by 2017 via live broadcast on V and lately, she has posted an image of her together with music producer Steve Barakatt in his studio on her Instagram account captioned “It was EPIC. ” According to Koreaboo , Steve Barakatt also posted an image of their time together. This left fans speculating that Minzy will be collaborating with the renowned producer. Sandara Park Like CL, Dara has had quite a successful solo career. Last year she starred in two successful web dramas, one even earned her a best actress award. She has been busy with all sorts of activities and engagements in and out of South Korea. Sandara also joined a Philippine singing competition as a judge which had ended around the same time as 2NE1’s disbandment.   Aside from her TV appearances, Sandara is also set to star in a South Korean film ‘One Step’ alongside Han Jae Suk. Currently, she is one of the faces of Penshoppe along with big names like Sean O’pry, Cara Delevigne, Lucky Blue Smith, Kendall Jenner and Asian superstar Mario Maurer and is also a new endorser for the shampoo brand Head & Shoulders. Wishing all the former members of 2NE1 all the success in the world! Cheers.
