‘23 Jump Street’/’Men In Black’ Crossover; Sony Confirms Franchise Crossover! Get All The Details Here!

Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill successfully rebooted “Jump Street” with not just one but two movies. Fans are clearly clamoring for more and the Hollywood stars are keen in going back to their popular comedic roles. But instead of a simple “23 Jump Street,” the duo will hit the big screen once again with another comedy franchise: “Men in Black. ” According to Inquisitr , “…Jonah Hill and Tatum’s characters will be battling aliens instead of going undercover to battle drug dealers. Jenko (played by Tatum) and Schmidt (played by Hill) will be immersed into the world of ‘Men in Black’…”

Although the crossover may seem like an odd couple movie combo, the pairing of two movies might just work. As reported by Cheat Sheet , “Just as 22 Jump Street pokes fun at the inherently repetitive nature of sequels, a Jump Street/Men in Black film could similarly mock the industry’s obsession with shared universes while still adhering to everything fans would imagine they’d see in such an outrageous film.”
But even though Jenko and Schmidt will jump into the world of fighting aliens, the original stars who ushered the popular movie franchise are not returning. According to Variety , “As for Agent Jay and Agent Kay, execs have already made it clear Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will not be reprising the roles they made famous as the studio looks to use this film to relaunch the franchise with younger, fresher faces.”
The big franchise crossover will be under the direction of James Bobin. In the previous “Jump Street” series, Phil Lord and Chris Miller were the directors but they have to bow out this time due to their current assignment – working on a Han Solo standalone movie project. Bobin is known as the director of “The Muppets” and the HBO comedy series, “Flight of the Conchords.”
